News and Notes…the band played 2 sets, about 32 songs from 6:30-9PM….Mazeroski enjoyed the music, although he says he is more of a “country western fan.”  Guess we’ll let Maz have that one…Rocco Mediate chatted with the band for a while about music, and is a big fan of the band “Rush.”…WPXI weatherman Kevin Benson came up after the first set and put on Scott’s bass, just to look cool…Louis Lipps said he used to play in a marching band, but hated “parading the big drum around for a mile and a half,” so he turned to football…the band closed with “That Thing You Do,” which really had some people groovin’ at the end of the night

The Elliotts took to the main ballroom at the Southpoint Country Club on August 29 to play at the celebrity pro-am Mylan Golf Classic.  An open bar, d’ouervers, celebrities and the Elliotts were all on hand for the night!  The Elliotts got to meet some former and current athletes, along with some local celebrities!  The band got to meet Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer and 1960 World Series hero Bill Mazeroski, Pittsburgh Penguins head coach and Stanley Cup winner Dan Blysma, former Steelers star wide receiver Louis Lipps, local golf pro Rocco Mediate, and Kevin Benson, WPXI-TV weatherman.  Many others were on hand too, talking a little golf while listening to classic American rock and British invasion music from the Elliotts!
